The Death Of Robin Hood is a darker reimagining of the classic Robin Hood tale.

Set of its time, the film sees the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder; a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.

But when nervy council official Daniel (Gleeson) arrives on the island intent on moving them along, the pair must wrestle with the threat and exciting possibilities of the mainland. Crammed with intriguingly strange characters and performed with aplomb by a wonderful cast, this terrific comedy debut from director Louis Paxton fuses surreal humour, warmth and pathos.
