In Hasan Hadi’s engrossing debut, a young girl is faced with the challenge of baking a cake for her school’s celebration of Saddam Hussein’s birthday.

Though considered a great honour, nine-year-old Lamia’s task feels impossible, as she and her grandmother Bibi already struggle to get by. But armed with a shopping list and her pet rooster, Lamia remains determined as she sets off to find ingredients. The Garfunkels are back at the Riverside!

After their sold out show in January 2026, The Garfunkels are super excited to be back for another show this December at the Riverside.

A bit about The Garfunkels:

“There was one small problem - neither of us wanted to be Paul Simon. To make it work, one of us was going to have to get a hair cut. And that simply wasn’t going to happen”

Not many 20 year old lads think of starting a Simon & Garfunkel tribute act - but Suffolk-based musicians Tom Mumford and Angelo Littler did exactly that.

The Garfunkels’ set is a celebration of Simon & Garfunkel’s  music and story. With rich harmonies and engaging storytelling, you can expect to hear the most iconic songs over the years - from the debut album Wednesday Morning 3AM’ to bestselling, award wining ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.

This sweet and uplifting Irish road movie from filmmaker Michael Head packs in the laughs as it follows Dermot (Brenock O’Connor) and Elvis (Owen Colgan), two music lovers who run a struggling record shop in Omagh, Northern Ireland.

Facing an unpaid rent bill and their vicious landlord Sadie (Derry Girls’ Tara Lynne O’Neill), who’s eager to get them out of her building, the pair stumble across a deal too good to be true: rare, vintage records of blues legend Robert Johnson for sale in Cork at a knock-down price. If they can make it to the other end of Ireland in time, then maybe they could get the rare vinyl, and save the shop….

With just two days to get there the pair head off in a rusty Vauxhall as old as the hills. As they navigate their picturesque journey, they meet locals and make new friends along the way.

A fun and off-the-wall buddy movie, The Spin is based upon a semi-autobiographical short story by Omagh music star Mark McCausland (The Lost Brothers, The Basement, McKowski), who also provides the film’s beautiful folk soundtrack.
